During the summer our hall which is used extensively by community groups was refurbished. The work comprised of replacing the existing false ceiling and installing LED light panels. The old strip lighting and boarding around the existing ceiling edge were removed and the original balcony railings exposed. These were then clad with polycarbonate sheeting to let more natural light into the hall from the old balcony upstairs. The original (1912) vestibule entrance was removed and new modern double doors installed making a simpler straight access into the hall. The entrance and hall were repainted using bright, light colours to improve the ambience of the environment.
Photos of before, during and after the work can be seen on the photo gallery.
